Our public speaking course

Our public speaking course gives you several opportunities to speak in front of a supportive audience.

You’ll also have the chance to craft a short presentation with the help of experts, in a safe environment.

The day is full of activities to help you discover your unique voice, so you can communicate authentically.

1. Support

Learning public speaking isn’t something you can achieve on your own. So, we bring together a dozen or so likeminded learners in our public speaking training to create a safe and supportive environment. Our trainers also participate in the exercises because we’re all in this together.

2. Practical tools

There’s a bunch of work that can be done to prepare for public speaking. Our public speaking classes give you practical tools that get you from concept to presentation. You’ll get to apply the tools during the course to realise their value and refine how you work with them.

3. De-stress

Even the most prepared, most experienced public speakers get butterflies before stepping in front of an audience. It’s what you do with those nerves that can make or break your performance. Together we’ll apply some techniques that will keep you calm, cool and collected.

4. Practice

For many of us, public speaking is just something we have to do – and it’s hard to get constructive feedback. Our public speaking course gives you plenty of opportunities to put your newfound skills to the test. And, of course, practice makes perfect.

We can all
improve at
public speaking

Mastering the art of public speaking is the easiest way to persuade, influence and motivate an audience – whether that’s one person or a 1000 people.

The ability to speak well in front of an audience is a valuable asset for those that can do it and a costly liability for those that can’t.

Thankfully public speaking is a skill that can be learned, and this public speaking course provides tools that you can put to use immediately.

Controlling Nerves

There’s a reason we get nervous when speaking in front of a crowd. It reminds us to prepare well and helps us perform better. And there’s a few specific steps you can take to help keep nerves under control.

Structure

The secret to a successful presentation is structure. It signposts the journey that you’re inviting your audience to take with you. Without structure they’re unlikely to recall anything that you say.

Storytelling

It’s how we’ve communicated since the dawn of time, but it’s all too easy to forget when you’re standing in front of an expectant audience. Our public speaking course shows you how to craft memorable stories for any situation.

Make an impression

What is it about some speakers that really make a connection with us, while others just leave us cold. Making a positive and lasting impression is essential to public speaking success.

Answering Questions

There is an art to answering questions that leaves audiences satisfied. It also prevents you from getting tongue-tied or stumbling into uncharted territory that you’d rather avoid.

Speaking Impromptu

Some of us don’t mind speaking impromptu, but few of us can do it effectively. Our public speaking course gives you a tool that works in any surprise speaking situation. We’ve also got a few tips to craft a well rounded speech off-the-cuff.

Blown away by how great the public speaking workshop was. With a fear of public speaking, I was skeptical about how much I’d be able to put into practice. I can honestly say I came away with brilliant tools to assist my presentations.
